Degeneration isn’t always something most people recognize,
as the passing of unfamiliar pain is common and people sometimes
mistaken it as something that will go away by itself. What most
don’t know is that spinal decay is a degenerative process
that, when undiagnosed and untreated, worsens as time goes by and
can become crippling.
Spinal Decay is known to be triggered by some type of
uncorrected trauma to the spine. In fact, some of the documented
traumas were anything from a slip, or fall, to even the birth
process an infant encounters. If spinal decay is present and left
untreated this can lead to the body’s natural response to
deposit calcium into the affected areas (i.e., joint surfaces,
ligaments and connective tissues). When this happens, the body
attempts to stabilize the spinal joints that are malfunctioning,
thus causing the spine to become permanently compromised.
Unfortunately, most people don’t know they have spinal
decay until years later when the symptoms become obvious, which
can be associated with the chronic health problems seen in the
elderly.
How can a chiropractor help? The purpose of chiropractic care
is to locate areas of the spine that are malfunctioning and
perform specific “adjustments” to improve its
function and structure. Therefore, something as a simple as
making an appointment and getting checked for spinal decay can
make the difference in the health of your life!
